Before we tear into our chair, lets make sure we have the right tools.
You will need a pair of 6 inch diagonal pliers, a nice pair of scissors for cutting fabric, an awl, and a tape measure for measuring around curves.
Sewing machine. Don't worry it doesn't need to be fancy. Just your most basic model will do. I just have a fancy one because it was a free hand-me down. I don't actually know how to use most if it.
Since we will be sewing some piping make sure you have a zipper foot.
Staple gun. I use the Maestri ME 3G. But just your basic manual staple gun will work just fine.
Rubber mallet, or a regular hammer with A-LOT of padding. You don't want to damage your fabric.

ReplyDeleteYeah, thanks for doing this! I have half a dozen chairs stacked up around my house waiting for re-upholstery! This is so helpful. Jean
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric that you choose. I don't have a sewing machine but, I think I want one for Christmas...pretty bad that I already know what I want, huh?? :) The fabric you choose is awesome.
