I am a bit embarrassed to admit that this is the first holiday mantel I have decorated in this house. Life was just a bit too hectic when the twins were babies. But this year I went for it.
I went out to our backyard and trimmed some of our various evergreen trees. I believe these are from a white pine and a spruce tree. But don't quote me on that. Then I tied them together with some yarn. Tada garland.
Then I decorated the garland with some cute snowflakes, and some ornaments for Chanukah.
Did I mention how awesome this fresh garland smells? It is just perfect!
oh sarah, i love that! it is rustic, warm, and pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love the natural and rustic look.
ReplyDeleteI love it Sarah...I decided to go with a more natural look this year too. I love bringing the outside in!
ReplyDeleteIt's "simply" beautiful. I love it. Still need to decorate ours. Oh well, maybe tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteOK...dumb question. Love the wood in the fireplace...great look and texture. Do you have another fireplace you actually use that wood? Or do you leave it there all year? That's A LOT of wood!
haha, I know! I actually leave it all year round. We have 2 fireplaces which are both stuffed full of wood. It keeps the kids out of the fireplace. They are all crazy and can't keep their hands off of anything:) I figure I have a few more years before we will have an actual fire in the fireplace.
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat taking cues from nature. It's so simple and gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteMagazine worthy!
ReplyDeleteThose are some serious trimmings! Simply beautiful! liz
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous....even with out the evergreen that room is so pretty. We have a fireplace but for some reason the previous owners never put a mantle on. I can't wait till the day I have one to decorate!
