I have been looking for THE perfect lamp to add to the guest room. It should be beautiful, stylish and VERY inexpensive. Luckily I had this old lamp form T.J. Maxx circa 1999 laying around crying out for attention.
I love the shape of this lamp. It's classic curves will look great in the guest bedroom. But the shade and the dark color are not working at all. Lucky for me I remembered reading a post on
Isabella and Max Rooms called
How To Get A High End Look For Less- Table Lamps. Just a bit of spray paint and a new shade was all it took. So I gave it a go.
I love this new/ old lamp. Maybe later if I am feeling really crafty I will cover the shade with some fabulous fabric. But first I need to figure out a paint color for this room. Any suggestions??

ReplyDeleteIt was really very easy. I will tell you that the lamp needs to air out for a LONG time before you can bring it in. The spray paint is pretty stinky.

Great job! This might be a stupid question, but what kind of primer did you use? Is it a spray paint primer? (Sorry I've never painted a lamp before, but I will definitely be trying it now!)
