Fireplace Project: A Total Success

As many of you know this fireplace has been haunting me for months. I think this is my fourth post on JUST the fireplace. But thanks to all of your comments and input I have finally figured it out. And I love it. Simple-yes, re-used material-yes, little boy proof-yes. Take a look. I love all of the texture in this room, the brick and the stacked logs give your eyes some serious candy!

Family Room with Rustic Fireplace and Stacked Logs

If your remember way back when I started this journey, I promised a feature to whomever helped me out. So stop by and check out this great blog Delusions Of Grandeur. This is the comment, complete with link, that finally got me on the right track.

"That's a really beautiful rustic looking fireplace. You could just fill it up with chopped wood? Also very rustic and textural....But would that still be a problem for those little hands?"

I also want to say that I was totally in awe of all your helpful suggestions! I am truly astounded by all of your creativity. Gail from Can't Stop Making Things even photoshopped a picture for me, on her own! So sweet, I can't even stand it.

  13. I like that idea. And the wood mantel is cute. It does look very Pottery Barn-ish. BTW - love your kitchen redo also. The white cabinets really opened up the kitchen.

  14. We don't use our fireplace (it's too old of a house) and the opening is huge. I think this would be a great look. Something different. I love it!
