Library Inspiration

As soon as Liz from Designing Domesticity mentioned a loveseat in front of the bay window, I turned to my favorite store Williams- Sonoma Home and what caught my eye first? This beauty.

The Beverly Sofa: Williams- Sonoma Home
But then I remembered I should probably come up with a plan for this room instead of randomly collecting things I like, in hopes that the room will just magically come together. In my experience this is NOT a good idea. Case in point, the fireplace. So To Houzz I went.

I really didn't have a clue what I wanted other than white bookcases. So I did a search for "white bookcases." and after looking through hundreds of photos I found this.

Hallway library traditional hall

You know that feeling when you find the perfect one? For me its like a giant light shines on it and the angel sound is queued. I know I get excited about funny things.

And did you notice the sofa? Total coincidence. I love the relaxed, airy feeling in this space. Comfortable, traditional, but not stuffy at all. Me, me, me. Plus this leather sofa is perfect for kids.

So if the stars align and I get myself in gear my library will look a lot like this. Now I am on the hunt for a second hand Chesterfield Sofa. If you find one let me know!

Come back tomorrow for the project list for this room.

  4. God. Ever since I was little, and after watching Disney's Beauty & the Beast countless times, it has been my life's AMBITION (haha) to have a home with a library with floor to ceiling book shelves and a stepladder. I know I won't end up in a castle (but then again who knows, right???) but I'll be damned if I don't have that library. This looks AMAZING. Can't wait to see your interpretation

    Have a great one! x NTA @ blogspot.com

  9. Delicious inspiration! There's nothing like the upholstery tufts sprinkled across a Chesterfield sofa. Yum.
