What Makes You Nervous?

I couldn't figure out why I wasn't diving right into my dining room makeover. I have it all planned out but I keep finding excuses not to start..... I finally figured out why. Its the bookcases. In order to complete this step I will have to attempt the ever popular IKEA Billy bookcase hack. Sounds simple enough right? So what is my problem? IT HAS BEEN SO DONE!

I feel like a diver getting ready to perform a dive that everyone before me has done beautifully, and what is going through my head? Will it be as good?  Am I just going to do a giant belly flop? Can I put my own stamp on it? Usually I am using inexpensive items so I feel a bit fearless. But if you add up the amount of bookcases I need its going to get a little pricey, don't want to mess that up, UGH!

Just take a look at these amazing Billy hacks that have gone before me!

  1. I get nervous ALL the time. I have a big boy room still in limbo and I have a dining room table that has been patiently waiting for 3 years to be redone...OH...and I have my Layla chair and that headboard. I am such a baby. {maybe that is why we are such good buddies?}

    Cheers~

  6. I'm the same way with things sometimes. I haven't blogged in almost a week.... I realized this morning that I need a blog post about all the projects I have in waiting.
    *And, I'm still on the lookout for a piece of furniture to do like your mirrored writing desk. Once I Have it, that will also go into that list of projects I need to do but am nervous to start :)

  8. not silly :) I get nervous when I mess with something new and expensive too. It is so much easier when it is something free or from the trash...it can only get better at that point :)

    I'm sure you will do an amazing job though girl...look at your mirrored writing desk!!!!

  10. First of all, whatever you do will be great I am sure, but if not, remember "Rome was not built in a day" or something like that! Projects, even with the best intentions, have to be tweaked! So get going, I wish you luck and show us the fantastic results!
