I have slowly been getting my office together. Let me tell you this has been a s. l. o. w. process. However, this chalkboard addition is awesome. I have needed a large place to write my ongoing to-do list. One that I can see clearly from many parts of the house. So JUMBO was certainly the way to go.
Lucky for me I had removed the screen door from the front of the house last fall. You can read about that HERE. And I had the glass insert just hanging out in the garage.
Add in a few coats of white spray paint.
Tape of the edges.
Prime with black spray primer.
And finish up with two coats of chalk board spray paint.
Let the kids chalk it up and TADA...
My office is starting to come together. I do have a secret.. this is what the other side of the office looks like.
No judging & yes the backyard is a wreck. Keep it real right?

Lol, definitely no judging here...my office is usually full of random toddler items that should either be in a laundry basket or toy box. I love that giant chalkboard, you can definitely keep up with stuff using it!

Michelle- Me too! This was actually my first attempt into chalkboard paint. I have been quietly protesting the whole movement in my head for the last year:) But finally I caved. I think it works for me because I actually need it.

ReplyDeleteLol! Don't we all have a corner like that in our house?! I love your chalkboard and thanks for sharing the DIY. I did a mirror a while back and the chalk scratched the chalkboard paint. Now I see that I did not prime it first. Doh! Coming over from Met Monday and your newest follower!

ReplyDeleteChalkboards are an essential as far as I'm concerned and it's clearly a hit from the "art" those little ones are creating on it. We just moved so you can imagine that parts of my house look exactly like yours. You are SO not alone. Jane.
