Downstairs Bathroom

When we moved in last year we knew that the bathrooms needed some help... think 1960's avocado and yellow counters with lantern light fixtures AAAH! Oh and did I mention the downstairs bathroom has faux brick flooring?? I can deal with the upstairs bathrooms for the time being but the downstairs bathroom is screaming out for a low cost update ASAP!

I have been looking for ideas on The Inspired Room. I think I can swing something along these lines. New light fixtures, paint the vanity, and add some mirrors? Nothing huge but should brighten up this miserable bathroom. Any other suggestions or ideas that don't include a stick of dynamite?!!
