How To Clean Your Stroller

Our family is always on the go. And since they are all still little we use our strollers A LOT. In fact we have two. A double stroller that lives in the car for quick trips into stores and a triples stroller for walks to the park that stays in the garage. Let me tell you that these strollers get a WORK OUT! And at the end of the summer they are in need of a serious cleaning.

How to Clean Your Stroller

Materials
  • vacuum cleaner with upholstery attachment or dust buster
  • hose
  • Shaklee Basic H2
  • old towels
  • tire pump and pressure gauge
  • sunny day
Instructions
  1. Get rid of the crumbs! use a dust buster or the upholstery attachment on your vaccuum cleaner to really get all of the dirt.
  2. You can follow the manufacturers instruction for cleaning the surfaces but I am a fan of soap and water. Most strollers are made with water resistant fabric so I say go for the hose! Get that stroller nice and wet!
  3. Spray your stroller with a low-sudsing soap or cleaner. This time I used Shaklee's Basic H. It is tuff on dirt without turning your stroller into a giant soap bubble. It is also free from harsh chemicals which is great since this is where the kids sit.
  4. Grab a scrub brush and scrub, scrub, scrub! Paying special attention to the areas where the kids put their hands and feet.
  5. Take your hose out again and give the entire stroller a good spray. Keep going until all the soap is gone.
  6. Using old towels, towel the stroller off and then leave in the sun to dry.
  7. Finally give those tires a little attention and check the tire pressure. You will be surprised how much easier it is to push when the tires are filled!!

  1. Hmm, so you wouldn't recommend leaving your stroller out in the rain like I did last night to clean it? I remembered at 4am and ran out to get it. Sigh.

  2. Done it myself a few times:) Just think it was the rain telling you it was time to clean your stroller! Just add soap and hose it off! Or you can leave it out again... is it going to rain again tonight?
