Weekend Cleaning Project: The Oven

Ok folks, this is probably my least favorite cleaning task in the house. Do you have to ask? It is gross, usually smelly, takes forever and a day to finish, and again requires either turning the oven on the cleaning cycle which makes the entire house smell terribly or using super toxic cleaning products. Which  leaves me what? doing this at night with the windows open so my boys don't breath it in... oh yeah its probably not good for me either! So what is a girl to do?

Shaklee Degreaser and Scour Off

Before: Don't judge me...

Don't ask, I have no idea what that is.

I started by spraying the entire oven with Shaklee's Degreaser and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then I grabbed my Scour Off paste, and a wet scrubbing sponge (its the kind that won't scratch your non-stick pans) and went to work!

My helpers.  No more solitary cleaning for me!!

Take a look at the right side of the oven and the time on the clock.

Here is a close-up

Tada! Check out the time on the clock and the right side of the oven. 6 minutes!

And just 13 more minute to finish up the bottom, back and left side.

For real! Not too bad. The key was spraying the degreaser before you start with the Scour Off. It really helped get all of that yucky grease off of the sides.

If you are interested in picking up any of these wonderful, non-toxic, environmentally friendly cleaners please stop by my Shaklee Website and pick some up today.
