Well it's March 1st and looking outside you would never know it. This morning was 17 degrees and there are at-least 4 inches of snow on the ground. But that isn't stopping me from planning for my garden.
Yesterday I picked up some starter pots, seeds, and soil so I can start my veggies inside. I have always wanted to do this and this is the year. I will tell you that I do not have the greatest track record when it comes to gardens, so this could end in many plant funerals. Wish me luck and I will keep you posted!
Later this week I will share with you some of my methods for eating local all year round!
We are trying one out this year too! I don't have the best of luck with plants so I am a little nervous. Can't wait to see how yours turns out!
ReplyDeletewishing you luck! (PS...I always over seed greens like that...just use a few per pot and sow the rest outdoors. they'll grow in colder weather once it tops 40 or so :)
ReplyDeleteI grew from things from seed last year...I ended up at the nursery to buy my plants for the garden. LOL! I'm still going to try and do my own seeds again this year. My plan is to make some elevated garden beds too.
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteI do love gardening! Planning a garden when the seed catalogs arrive is a favorite pastime.
Looking forward to more of your plans.
I am limited by the rabbits who eat just about everything I plant....
But in the past I have so enjoyed growing green beans, tomatoes, zucchini, asparagus, lettuce.
At least they leave the herbs alone, except for the parsley!
I just got my seeds yesterday! Don't plant *too* early or you'll have lots of spindly seedlings before you can put anything outside.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, here it's finally getting cooler...Glad you're a bit warmer over there. Your plan to start your inside veggie garden sounds great, cant wait to see the final products, yum!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day:))
xo
I can't wait for warm weather!
ReplyDeleteI sure would love to plant a garden, because I LOVE to cook (hello! I'm Italian!) but I think I have a brown thumb. (And a dog that eats my tomatoes.)
ReplyDeleteI want to see what happens with your garden and I saw your GORGEOUS mirrored writing desk a few weeks ago... I'm your newest follower now. :)
