10 Minute Laundry Room Clean Up

I have a confession. Remember last year when I showed you how great my laundry room looked? It was definitely cute. Functional? Not so much.

This is what it turned into... Don't judge me.



Turns out storing your liquid detergent in a cute glass jar really just makes a GIANT mess.



Awesome. 



My wonderful hubby has laundry duty around here. But I was down in the basement today and couldn't take it anymore (this has been a progressive problem. Did you notice I recognized the problem back in January?) 

So I took everything off of the top, wiped it down. I didn't need any soap since it was COVERED. Just a wet towel. Got rid of all the pretty glass bottles, washed them, and stored them for another day. So sad. I also ran a cleaning cycle. I won't tell you how long my machine has been beeping at me to do this.  




Much better and it only took 10 minutes. What a huge difference. Why did I let this go so long?

    ahh it looks so much better! Well worth the ten minutes! Too bad about the pretty jars. I thought about doing that too. Glad I read this. Now I definitely won't!

    It's the easiest things that we put off. I have a piece of trim that needs two little nails but it's been hanging loose for oh so many years. The 10 minutes to fix would be done lickity split.

    Sometimes it just takes the last straw to do something we know needs to be done. It looks great...and the wicker basket is sweet!

    Looks great! Mine's just awful right now and I'm sure it'll take me much longer than 10 minutes to get it straightened out. That's probably why I keep putting it off. lol

    Looks great - I had to laugh because those glass jars always look so great in magazines but I guess in reality...! It looks so cute with the wicker basket!

    Oh I can relate. I put my detergents in glass jars with lids and within a month was sweeping up the glass remains of the lid...ugh. :)

    Looks great! I always feel so skeptical of pantries and kitchens with glass jars because of this! Also, where do they put the rest of the cereal that didn't fit in that glass jar? Hmmmm.... :)

    Great clean up! It looks a million times better. I just recently attacked my laundry room. It's so easy for it to turn into a catch all place!

    I always put things off too, then am amazed at how quick it was to actually take care of and enjoy the outcome! Now I know my washing machine will only take me 10 minute to clean! Thanks!

    I don't know about you, but I have a problem with the big jugs of detergent with the dispensers leaking regardless! At least you tried to make it pretty, and now your washer is SQUEAKY clean!
