Thrifty Finds & Updates

For some reason this week has completely gotten away from me. The twins are just getting over some wonderful summer illness and we are finally getting back on schedule. So I thought I would catch you all up on what has been going on around here.

Last week I went to the Repurposed warehouse sale and picked up these two wicker ladder back chairs for the kitchen table.

Several months ago I picked this little pink chair up from craigslist for a BARGAIN.

Well, she has been sitting there until this week. I finally got around to taking off the upholstery.

May I tell you that removing the upholstery from a new chair takes F. O. R. E. V. E. R! I spent over 2 hours getting this off. No joke. About a bzillion staples. Seriously, taking the upholstery off an antique chair is so much easier. I think I have been traumatized.

So this is what I have been up to. Next Tuesday I am hoping to take a trip to the fabric store to find something gorgeous to cover this little lady. Keep your fingers crossed that my kiddos stay well enough to go to school!

  6. Those chairs are great and god bless you removing all of that upholstery - although I am excited to see what you decide to do with it and what fabric you choose. Isn't it a bummer when the kids are sick in the summer? I don't get it - there should be no illnesses during the summer.

  8. I know exactly what you mean...I ripped the upholstery off two parsons chairs not too long ago and my hands were in pain for days! It was honestly the hardest part of the whole process! Good luck with your chairs...can't wait to see the finished product!

  10. I can not *wait* to see how you dress the new lovely lady in your...livingroom?

Where is this chair going, anyway? Don't you have a ton of chairs by now?

Wishing we could do a chair swap.
