Weekend Cleaning Project: The Kitchen Floors

I have a confession to make, I really don't like cleaning but I LOVE what it looks like when I am finished. So sometimes I pretend that I am some seriously gorgeous super model doing a photo-shoot for green cleaning products. Very editorial, all bent and broken postures. Ok, don't laugh! Anyway I thought for my own pleasure AND hopefully yours, I will bring you to the shoot going on in my head.

Tadashi Shoji

Strapless Organza-Skirt Gown

Today I am rocking this gorgeous Tadashi Shoji gown while.... what? Scrubbing the floor! Lets go!

Before

Notice the brown grout? It is supposed to be a cream color.

This what we are starting with. It is a light cream linoleum floor with added texture and tan spots to add interest. Let me translate that for you. It is a light floor with indentations all over it to collect dirt, the pseudo grout is also a dirt trap. This floor has to be immaculate or else it just looks grungy. In the past the only thing I found that would get it looking new was bleach. But again this left me scrubbing the floors with the windows open at night so the kids wouldn't breath in the fumes... Not good.

Gross

I sprayed the entire floor with Shaklee's Degreaser and then hit the grout with the Scour Off.

Smells like Cherries!

After

Looks brand new!
A little closer

You can see where I stopped scrubbing

This took almost no time and no fumes! I even had my 4 year old spray the Degreaser for me, he LOVED it! Now I must go change out of my gorgeous gown. I have another photo shoot later today.

If you would like to try any of these wonderful products please stop by my Shaklee Website and pick some up. We have some really great promotions going on right now. Including this one for Cinch. But only if your dress today was not the size you were hoping for. See you next week!

  5. My 3 boys make me very grateful for my tile, but I really dread the cleaning. I have a color that hides A LOT, but eventually it gets to the unberable stage.

My hubby cleared out all the furniture on the tile (we have 500 sq. feet in our entry, dining room, and kitchen), got some lemon ammonia (which is a scent very nostalgically connected to cleaning for me) and went to work. When it dried I ran down the stairs and just stood on it in my bare feet.
